Dr. John Douillard, DC, CAP, is a globally recognized leader in the fields of Ayurveda, natural health, nutrition, and sports medicine. Kate O’Donnell, CAP
Kate is the author of three Ayurvedic Cookbooks, including The Everyday Ayurveda Guide to Self-Care, The Everyday Ayurveda Cookbook: A Seasonal Guide to Eating and Living Well and Everyday Ayurvedic Cooking for a Calm, Clear Mind: 100 Sattvic Recipes. She is a nationally certified Ayurvedic Practitioner and the founder of the Ayurvedic Living Institute. She began to travel in South India at age 20. More than a dozen extended trips to India and twenty years studying the wisdom traditions of the sub-continent support Kate’s practice of Ayurveda. Kate also specializes in Ayurvedic education, cooking skills, and cleansing programs, offering on-line programs, occasional in-person workshops on the road, and professional trainings.
Robert Svoboda, BAMS
Robert E. Svoboda is the first Westerner to graduate from a college of Ayurveda and be licensed to practice Ayurveda in India. During and after the formal Ayurvedic training that awarded him a Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery degree, he was tutored in Ayurveda, yoga, jyotisha, tantra, and other forms of classical Indian lore by his mentor, the Aghori Vimalananda. He is the author of more than a dozen books and has served as adjunct faculty at the Ayurvedic Institute in Albuquerque, New Mexico, and Bastyr University in Kenmore, Washington. Jim Ventresca, DOM
Jim Ventresca is the current President of the AAC Board of Directors. He is a graduate and past faculty member of the New England School of Acupuncture, and among the first acupuncturists in the United States to earn a board-certified Diplomate of Acupuncture. He was also one of the first acupuncturists licensed in the state of Massachusetts and holds a license in New Mexico as a Doctor of Oriental Medicine. Dr. Ventresca previously served as a site visit team leader and subject matter expert for the Accreditation Commission for Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine, the Academic Dean and full professor of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine at Southwest Acupuncture College, and as the Medical Director for integrative medicine at HealthSouth Rehabilitation Hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. He is a co-founder of a publicly funded HIV/AIDS substance abuse treatment center, and currently teaches acupuncture to healthcare professionals, as the director and principal instructor for AcuPracticeSeminars.com.
Dr. Claudia Welch, DOM
Dr. Claudia Welch has been a lifelong student of life and medicine. She has practiced Āyurveda, has worked in Eastern medicine education, is licensed as Doctor of Oriental Medicine, and the author of Balance Your Hormones, Balance Your Life: Achieving Optimal Health and Wellness Through Ayurveda, Chinese Medicine and Western Science and, The Four Qualities of Effective Physicians: Practical Ayurvedic Wisdom for Modern Physicians.
Dr. Welch has lectured internationally on Oriental medicine and Āyurveda, exploring how Eastern medicine applies to Women’s Health, and today’s reality in general. She has served on the teaching faculty of The Āyurvedic Institute, Kripalu School of Ayurveda, Southwest Acupuncture College, and Acupractice Seminars. Visit her website here.
