Educational Competencies
Educational Competency Guidelines are the framework for the curriculum offered in the schools and what is covered on the certification exam. The guidelines include four areas of concentration: Foundations of Ayurveda history and philosophy, concepts of Ayurveda, skills and competencies, recommendations, treatment and other interventions.

Program Hour Guidelines
The Ayurvedic Accreditation Commission recently undertook a comprehensive review of the requirements for the residential (in-person) hours and clinical components of the Ayurvedic Health Counselor, Ayurvedic Practitioner and Advanced Ayurvedic Practitioner programs. To allow schools/programs maximum flexibility in the delivery of these programs, the Commission approved the required program hours below.
